The horseshoe singles league begins on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 5:30 PM at the horseshoe courts in Ghormley Park in Moscow. The league will run for ten weeks on Wednesday evenings (May 23 - August 1), skipping July 4. Registration fee is $5 per person (Moscow resident, non-resident fee is $7 per person). Please register by Monday, May 21 through the Moscow Parks and Recreation Department (883-7085).

A free horseshoe pitching clinic for adults (age 16 and older) will be offered by Lon Pedersen and Kay Keskinen, both members of the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association. Kay is the 2011 Idaho Women’s Horseshoe Pitching Champion. The clinic will teach beginners and those who need a refresher the basics of horseshoe pitching: the rules, the court layout, types of legal horseshoes, methods of pitching a horseshoe, and more.
Rain/snow cancels the clinic.

The recreational game of horseshoe pitching is one of few sports that has national championships for boys, girls, men, and women. It can be played by one or more and by the young as well as the old.
